New Books Celebrate Litchfield, Raise Money for Nonprofits

Troy McMullen books about LitchfieldTroy McMullen, an executive editor at ABC News in New York who has a weekend house in Litchfield, recently published a series of children’s books focused on the arts, culture and history of Litchfield and Litchfield County.
In “Hello Litchfield Connecticut,” Bella the bobolink introduces readers to people and places that make Litchfield wonderful, from the Hauser Preserve and the Green to Bantam Lake, the Litchfield Hills Road Race, and more.
“Litchfield Modern” explores how midcentury modern architects like Marcel Breuer helped change the creative arc of architecture in Litchfield, designing cool, light-filled houses made of stucco, glass, and stone that brought a splash of modern design to the town’s traditional landscape.
“I See Art: Contemporary Art Galleries of Litchfield County, Connecticut” invites readers to discover the area’s burgeoning contemporary art scene and the galleries and art spaces in the county where creativity thrives.

They’re also available at Hope and Honey Boutique in Litchfield, and in the gift shops at The White Memorial Conservation Center and the Litchfield Historical Society (currently closed until the spring season).
All proceeds from the sale of the books will be donated to the local charities, including the Litchfield Historical Society, Northwest Connecticut Land Conservancy, and Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Connecticut.
