Get Ready for the 7th Annual Scarecrows in the Tapping Reeve Meadow
The hint of crispness in the air and the golden glow washing over the landscape signal that it’s nearly Autumn—and that means it’s almost time for the Litchfield Historical Society’s wonderful Scarecrows in the Meadow display.
The historical society has just opened registration as it invites local families, businesses, non-profits, and creative individuals to participate in the 7th Annual Scarecrows in the Meadow, which takes place from October 17 through November 1 in the Tapping Reeve Meadow behind the Tapping Reeve House and Litchfield Law school
One of Litchfield’s most anticipated Autumn and Halloween season traditions will feature more than 50 fun, goofy, educational, and spooky scarecrows built by community members. The display is open daily from dawn to dusk, and visitors are invited to walk the grounds and vote for their favorites.
